Bridal Showers, Sewing, and Homework – Oh My!

My three day retreat turned into a twoish day retreat thanks to the stresses in the subject line.  Not that sewing is a stress per se, I just have this weekend’s craft show looming over my head…  I always worry about having a blank looking table…  I’ve been spending my free time stitching mushroom spirits,Continue reading “Bridal Showers, Sewing, and Homework – Oh My!”

Wellspring 2011

Ok, I really need to write about my experiences at Wellspring this year.  It’s taken me long enough.  This is entirely due to the fact that I’m just so busy right now.  I’m taking summer classes three nights a week and am preparing for a craft show next weekend.  I feel terribly behind on myContinue reading “Wellspring 2011”

My Beltaine

Yesterday, Weretoad and I went to Syracuse to celebrate Beltaine with the folks at Muin Mound Grove.  We had a wonderful time.   I feel a greater familial bond with everyone. I celebrate everyone’s victories, lament their tragedies, cry when they cry, and laugh at inside jokes.  This Beltaine marked my fourth anniversary with them.Continue reading “My Beltaine”

Second Moon – Last Quarter – Part 2

Today was full of feeling ill, wonderful thunder storms, documentaries, and more sewing.  Meditation and ritual are still difficult due to coughing and throat congestion.  Still, the fact that I’m trying feels good.  It is so easy to fall out of a routine, thus even if it is difficult to experience a deep trance, continuingContinue reading “Second Moon – Last Quarter – Part 2”

Second Moon – Last Quarter – Part One

I didn’t really intend to blog today, but I cannot find my beloved journal!  I record my retreat experiences in there.  I always end up sharing some details here and save the more personal material for my paper journal.  Now I don’t know where it went…  I feel as if I’ve looked everywhere!  Who fairiedContinue reading “Second Moon – Last Quarter – Part One”

Hindus Find a Ganges in Queens, to Park Rangers’ Dismay – NYTimes.com

Hindus Find a Ganges in Queens, to Park Rangers’ Dismay – NYTimes.com. This was an interesting article on the impact of sacrifices to rivers by some members of the Hindu community in the US – mostly new immigrants who have yet to learn our rules or adapt their spiritual practices. I often think about theseContinue reading “Hindus Find a Ganges in Queens, to Park Rangers’ Dismay – NYTimes.com”

Second Moon – Full Moon (For Real)

Monday was not a fun day.  Well, there were moments of fun, particularly at the end when Weretoad and I started to watch an adorable anime series about a cat named Chi.  Otherwise, it was not a good day.  I don’t feel like going into it – at least right now – but I wasContinue reading “Second Moon – Full Moon (For Real)”

Nine Moons – 6th Night Retreat

Tonight I did an uncrossing ritual as part of my retreat.  It was great to bring together so many materials I’ve been creating over the past month into one ritual.  I used some of my homemade incense with charcoal.  Am I the only one who has trouble using charcoal discs?  They are a pain inContinue reading “Nine Moons – 6th Night Retreat”
