Surprise Leek!

I was working in my garden and saw something that looked like an onion or leek. I carefully pulled it up, the characteristic smell filling my nostrils. It was a leek! I must have dropped a scrap sometime before winter and it grew! I read they can be grown from the roots so I replanted that part so maybe I can have more! What a pleasant surprise!
