Garden, a set on Flickr.
I am officially on summer vacation! This means I can spend more time doing the things I love most – studying Druidism, sewing/crocheting, and working in my garden.
I did a lot of the latter yesterday. I gave most of my plants some yummy organic fertilizer, transplanted the zucchini, sage, and some tomatoes. I planted more lettuce and sunflowers. Oh gosh, I just love being in my garden! I feel so at peace working with my plants. Even when I didn’t have a lot of time, I made sure to water them every day. That little bit of time with them brightened my entire busy month. No matter what, I maintained my connection to those nature spirits and the Earth Mother. Although gardening is a demanding hobby, I am glad to have it – especially when other things start to take over. I am obligated to keep my green partners alive and so I am forced daily into a situation that I love and need.
